Which of the Two Did His Father’s Will?

by Zoraya Garcia, Pastoral Assistant  |  09/27/2026  |  This Sunday's Reading

This Week’s Gospel: Matthew 21:28–32 “Which of the two did his father’s will?

In today’s Gospel, Jesus tells us the story of two sons. Their father asks both of them to work in the vineyard. One son initially says “no,” but later changes his mind and goes. The other says “yes,” but never goes. Jesus reminds us that what matters is not simply what we say, but how we live. Our faith is shown through our actions, our choices, and our willingness to do God’s will.

We may sometimes say “no” to God through fear, hesitation, or weakness. Yet, like the first son, we can always change our hearts and return to the path God has shown us. God gives us the grace to begin again. Practical Action for the Week Put your faith into action. This week, choose one concrete way to say “yes” to God: help someone in need, forgive someone, spend a few extra minutes in prayer, attend Mass, or offer your time to someone who needs you. Let your actions speak louder than your words. Prayer: Lord, help me not only to say “yes” to You, but to live my “yes” through my actions. Amen. (ZG)

(ZG)
