God Takes Care of His People

Today, the readings tell us that God takes care of His people. When the Israelites were in the desert, God fed them and led them, showing us to trust that God will guide and provide for us, too. When God gave the people the manna in the desert, it showed them that He was their source of life. This food helped them so they would not go hungry, but He also wanted them to rely on His word and trust Him. Material things are good, but we shouldn’t overdo it by getting everything we see or want, because those things will not get us to heaven; God’s guidance and truth will.

When our friends, neighbors, or even coworkers are blessed to be able to afford something, we should be happy for them and not try to buy the same item or something better because we also want it. What we should want for each other is to share the Eucharist because that will unite all believers as one body. When we receive the Body and Blood of Christ, we are connected to Him and to each other. Faith is not just personal; it is also about community. The Eucharist is Jesus Himself, and when we receive it, we are spiritually nourished and strengthened. It helps us grow in faith and love for others. We are one family in Christ, and we need to love, forgive, and support one another. Everything we have comes from God, and we should be thankful for His blessings. We need to stay humble and trust in Him. We can show our gratitude to God by praying and thanking Him each day. I once heard a story about a child who was asked, “What can you give to God that you did not receive from God? The child named a few things, but was always told, “No, that gift came from God,” or “God made that possible for you to receive.” After a little while, the child said, “I can’t think of anything else.” The answer is OUR SINS. Our sins are the only thing we can give to God that was not given to us by God. Maybe it is time to give up our sins by going to confession. So today, why not spend a few moments thinking about all the gifts God has given you, not the ones you have purchased for yourself? (PC)

Dios Cuida de su Pueblo

Hoy, las lecturas nos dicen que Dios cuida de su pueblo. Cuando los israelitas estaban en el desierto, Dios los alimentó y los guió, mostrándonos que debemos confiar en que Él también nos guiará y proveerá. Cuando Dios les dio el maná en el desierto, les demostró que Él era su fuente de vida. Este alimento los ayudó a no pasar hambre, pero también quería que confiaran en su palabra y tuvieran fe en Él. Las cosas materiales son buenas, pero no debemos abusar de ellas comprándolas, porque no nos llevarán al cielo; la guía y la verdad de Dios sí.

Cuando nuestros amigos, vecinos o incluso compañeros de trabajo tienen la bendición de poder comprar algo, debemos alegrarnos por ellos y no intentar comprar lo mismo o algo mejor solo porque nosotros también lo deseamos. Lo que debemos desear para los demás es compartir la Eucaristía, porque eso unirá a todos los creyentes como un solo cuerpo. Al recibir el Cuerpo y la Sangre de Cristo, nos unimos a Él y a los demás. La fe no es solo algo personal; también se trata de comunidad. La Eucaristía es Jesús mismo, y cuando la recibimos, nos nutrimos y fortalecemos espiritualmente. Nos ayuda a crecer en la fe y en el amor al prójimo. Somos una sola familia en Cristo, y necesitamos amarnos, perdonarnos y apoyarnos mutuamente. Todo lo que tenemos proviene de Dios, y debemos estar agradecidos por sus bendiciones. Necesitamos mantenernos humildes y confiar en Él. Podemos mostrar nuestra gratitud a Dios orando y agradeciéndole cada día. Una vez escuché la historia de un niño al que le preguntaron: "¿Qué puedes darle a Dios que no hayas recibido de Él?". El niño mencionó algunas cosas, pero siempre le decían: "No, ese regalo vino de Dios" o "Dios hizo posible que lo recibieras". Después de un rato, el niño dijo: "No se me ocurre nada más". La respuesta es NUESTROS PECADOS. Nuestros pecados son lo único que po- demos darle a Dios que Él no nos dio. Quizás sea hora de renunciar a nuestros pecados confesándonos. Así que hoy, ¿por qué no dedicar unos momentos a pensar en todos los dones que Dios te ha dado, no en los que te has comprado? (PC)
